Rockton
residents are invited to bring their family
for a fun evening in the park!
The "28th
Annual National Night Out" (NNO), a unique
crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the
National Association of Town Watch (NATW),
has been scheduled for the first Tuesday in
August 2nd, 2011. Last year's National Night Out
campaign involved citizens, law enforcement
agencies, civic groups, businesses,
neighborhood organizations and local
officials from 9,858 communities from all 50
states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities
and military bases worldwide.
The 2011
Rockton Night Out team has organized a Night
Out Block Party that will be held at:
Village Green Park, 5-8pm, August 2nd, 2011. Residents
are asked to bring a dish to pass and grills
will be available to cook-out with your
neighbors. The night will include
activities for the children, open pool for
participants and a police and fire equipment
display. Neighborhood Watch block captains
will be available to answer questions and
sign-up new members.
National
Night Out is designed to:
 |
Heighten
crime and drug prevention awareness;
|
 |
Generate
support for, and participation in, local
anticrime programs; |
 |
Strengthen
neighborhood spirit and police-community
partnerships; and |
 |
Send a
message to criminals letting them know
that neighborhoods are organized and
fighting back. |
