Employment Opportunities

The Rockton Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of police officer. Applications are available at until September 8, 2014.  The application deadline is September 8, 2014 at 4 p.m.  You must meet the following minimum requirements: 

bullet U.S. Citizenship;
bullet Valid Driverís License;
bullet 20 to 35 years of age at time of application deadline (September 8th, 2014), unless otherwise exempt by statute;
bullet Associateís Degree in the field of Law Enforcement or Bachelorís Degree in any field (official, sealed college/university transcripts required as proof by application deadline, September 8th, 2014- copies or scans of transcripts will not be accepted);
bullet No felony convictions;
bullet Candidates must successfully pass a written exam battery, oral interview, background check, polygraph, psychological evaluation, and drug screen.

Preference points are awarded as allowed by statute.  All portions of the testing process are mandatory. Failure to attend and complete any portion of the process will result in elimination from employment consideration.

You are required to arrive at the testing location no later than 8:30 a.m. with photo identification (valid driverís license or State ID) to sign-in.  NO LATE ADMITTANCE.  ALL QUESTIONS CAN BE ASKED AT ORIENTATION. DO NOT CALL THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
